Theresa "Terry" M. Topczewski, 78

Theresa "Terry" M. Topczewski, 78, formerly of Hatley, died on Sunday April 9, 2017 at Rennes Health, Weston under the care of Asercare Hospice.

She was born October 16, 1938 in the town of Reid, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Kasmer and Mary (Beissel) Glatczak.

On January 28, 1956, Theresa was united in marriage to Jerome Topczewski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2005.

The couple farmed in the town of Reid until 1964. They then owned and operated Jerry's and Terry's Tavern in Hatley for over 50 plus years. Terry was very active in the community. She was involved with the 4-H, as well as the Hatley-Ringle VFW where she helped in organizing the Christmas baskets. Terry enjoyed sewing for people, gardening, canning and was a fabulous cook. She was an active member of St. Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley where she sang in the church choir and was a member of it's Rosary Society

Survivors include: 4 children, Jerome (Carol) Topczewski Jr., Roxanne (Randy) Wanta, Brenda Bembenek, and Timothy Topczewski all of Hatley; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca (Chad) Rogalla, Ryan Wanta, Matthew (Angela) Topczewski, Jennifer (Brad Pierson) Topczewski, and Tiffany Bembenek; 5 great grandchildren, Grace and Claire Rogalla, Alexia Pilgrim, and Haley and Gabriel Bembenek; 2 half brothers, Tom (Karen) Modjewski, Granton, and Mike Modjewski, Hatley; 4 siblings, Francis Lang, Schofield, Patricia (Harland) Krueger, Hatley, Edward (Faye) Glatczak, Hatley, and Roseanne Groshek, Wausau; and sister in-law, Louise Grys, Fairbanks,AK.

In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her sister, Estelle Falkowski, sister in-law, Maxine Modjewski, brother in-laws, Rueben Lang, Daniel Topczewski, Ambrose Groshek, Norman Falkowski and John Grys.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Fr. Greg Bohren will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4PM to 7PM and again on Monday from 9AM until the time of service all at the church.
