Vaccine Availability for Langlade County Tier 1a Personnel Not Affiliated with a Healthcare System

The Langlade County Health Department has been reaching out to organizations that have frontline healthcare personnel who are not affiliated with a healthcare system, hospital or long-term care facility.

Following tiers defined by a state advisory group, individuals who provide direct patient service or engage in healthcare services that place them into contact with patients who may have COVID-19 are defined as Tier 1a and are currently eligible for vaccine.

“Frontline health care workers play a vital role in keeping our community healthy. One of the three Public Health Core Functions is assurance. This means linking individuals who want a COVID-19 vaccine with an approved vaccinator, or directly providing the vaccine through a health department clinic,” says Jean Weston, Health Officer for Langlade County.

Langlade County Health Department is asking that any Langlade County organizations or individuals who provide direct care that meet the Tier 1a definition and are interested in the vaccine, but who are not yet matched with a vaccinator call the Langlade County Health Department at 715-627-6250. The department will follow-up to either match them with an approved vaccinator or schedule them for an appointment at an upcoming 1a clinic.

As information about vaccine availability for other tiers becomes available, Langlade County Health Department will provide this information. “In the meantime, we are asking that the public remain patient and continue to wear a mask in public, social distance, wash your hands frequently and stay home if you have symptoms and get tested,” Weston requests.
