Walter George Pilhofer, lifelong Gleason resident, died at his home on Friday, March 6, 2015 under the care of Interim Health Care and Hospice, and his family. He was 85 years old.
He was born May 13, 1929 in the Town of Summit, son of the late George and Mary (Tichachek) Pilhofer. He married Leila Marshall at Emmanuel Lutheran in Doering on April 11, 1953.
Mr. Pilhoffer was a logger, dairy farmer, log truck driver, and also built steel buildings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and socializing with his friends and neighbors.
In addition to his wife, survivors include 3 daughters, Mary Ann (Ed) Strandell of Deerbrook, Patty Michiel of Kempster, and Nancy (Robert “Dale”) Fronek of Antigo; a sister, Jean; 7 grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Ashley, Jerrad, Marie, Matthew, and Mary Lynn; 5 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Taylor, Holden, Jazz, and Luna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother.
In accordance with Walter’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
