Arlon “Ada” D. Adams, 81 of Wittenberg, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Theda Care Medical Center, Shawano.

He was born on December 3, 1936 in Wittenberg, son of the late Herman and Irma (Wendt) Adams. On November 10, 1973 he married Susan Kaufman at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wittenberg.

Arlon served his country in the US Navy from 1956 – 1960, where he was stationed on the USS Kawishiwi fueling ship. Following his honorable discharge at the rank of BT3, he made a living working at various auto body shops.

He always had a big garden that he kept so neat, people often stopped to look. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, although he never ate the fish he caught. He liked a good game of pool, and shot in leagues for many years. Arlon played in the “old timers” softball league and enjoyed a good night out with friends and co-workers.

Survivors include his wife, Susan of Wittenberg, two daughters, Victoria (Keith) Kelln of Birnamwood, and Sheynna (Cale) Woodhouse of Bismark, ND; six grandchildren, Brandon and Alayna Kelln, PO2 Eric P. Domke, Kurtis, Aubrianna and Gabriel Woodhouse; three great-grandchildren, Oakleigh Kelln, Colby and Bennett Woodhouse; two brothers, Ed (Helen) Adams of Freemont, and Dale (Cathy) Adams of Wittenberg; three sisters, Beverly Alfheim of Birnamwood, Darlene Matson of Tigerton, and Marilyn (Norman) Steinke of FL; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Glen Alfheim and Milton Matson.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
