Marian Therese Fermanich, 101

Marian Therese Fermanich, of Antigo, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Wellington Place Assisted Living in Stevens Point. She was 101 years old. She was born on October 20, 1916, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Alvin and Norma (Schmidt) Pukall. She married Paul “Skip” Fermanich on January 31, 1940, in Shawano. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1990.

She was a graduate of Wittenberg High School, class of 1934. She attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee for one year.

Mrs. Fermanich did tax rolls in Mattoon for 17 years, was employed at Antigo Production Association in Shawano as a bookkeeper and was also employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory Company for 12 years. For 35 years she was assistant bookkeeper at Fermanich Fuel. She retired in 1995.

She enjoyed bowling, knitting, walking, and watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.

Survivors include three daughters, Mari Ann (John) Bovee of Plainfield, Susan Helmbrecht of West Bend and Lisa (Rory) Sharon-Hix of Antigo; a son, Steven (Lynn) Fermanich of Antigo; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great, great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Pukall and a sister, Mildred Block.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
