Elaine Duchac, age 91, of Antigo, died Thursday, January 31, 2019, at The Cottages Assisted Living in Shawano. She was born on March 15, 1927, in Wausau, a daughter of the late Palmer and Mildred (Bielke) Hanson. She married Carl “Dick” Duchac on June 18, 1949, in Manitowish Waters. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2008.

She was a 1945 graduate of Wausau High School and attended Northland College in Ashland where she met the love of her life, Dick.

Even though Elaine was a homemaker for most of her life, she and her husband found time to start a Christmas Tree farm, and sold trees in Ohio for many years. She later became a real estate broker for Tri State Homes and Wolf River Reality.

She was an active and faithful member of Faith United Church of Christ, Antigo having been a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Antigo Homemakers and the Fine Arts Club.

She enjoyed spending summers with her family at Pelican Lake, and in later years she looked forward to winters at Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Elaine had many interests including photography, painting, figure skating, and a true love of nature and the water.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Karla) Duchac of Shawano, and Jeffry (Kathy) Duchac of Waupun; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Palmer “Bill” (Jean) Hanson of Sarasota, FL, Ralph (Jan) Hanson of Manitowish Waters and John Hanson of Manitowish Waters.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Burr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
