Murder, ego, and silent-era cinema collide on stage this November as the Antigo Community Theatre returns to the Volm Theater with Don Zolidis’s fast-paced mystery-comedy, Silent, But Deadly.
Set against the chaotic backdrop of a silent film thriller in production, the play unravels on a set teetering on the edge of disaster. Between a perfectionist director, an easily led leading man, a silent film diva facing open rebellion from cast and crew, and persistent rumors that the on-screen villain might actually be a vampire, tensions run high. When a sudden on-set death turns backstage rivalry into an active crime scene, a famous detective must step in to separate red herrings from real clues and solve the ultimate whodunit before the final reel.
Performances take place at the Volm Theater at Antigo High School, located at 1900 10th Avenue in Antigo. The run opens on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 PM, followed by two showings on Saturday, November 7, with a 2:00 PM matinee and an evening curtain call at 7:00 PM. The production wraps up with a final matinee on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM.
Admission is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students. Advance tickets can be purchased locally at Neve’s Floors to Go, Furniture & Mattress, located at 710 5th Avenue (715-623-5203), with remaining seats sold at the door before each show.
