Familiar Face Returns To Lead Antigo Wrestling

Posted

The female Antigo Wrestling team has taken to the mats and is preparing for an onslaught of early-season events. Senior Olivia Hofrichter will lead the charge, hoping to defend her state championship from last year. Hofrichter finished the 2024-2025 season with a 43-3 record and the top spot on the podium at the WIAA state tournament. Hofrichter already holds the school record for most wins for a female, and looks to join the 100 win club as she has a lifetime record of 88-12.

Hofrichter currently sits third in the state rankings at 145 pounds. The top ranking goes to Riley Hanrahan, who is the defending champion at 138 pounds, and is also the top-ranked wrestler in the nation at 140 pounds per flowrestling. The second-place spot goes to Harlow Skenandore of Pulaski who won the 16U Fargo national championship this summer. Hofrichter defeated Skenandore in the semifinals of the state tournament last year.

Joining Hofrichter this year will be incoming Freshman Summer Thunder. Thunder had a very successful youth career, qualifying for state the past two years and earning a runner-up finish as a 7th grader. Her success did not go unnoticed, as she is currently ranked 16th at 138 before she even steps on the mat as a high schooler.

Rounding out the female team will be Sophomore Trinity Ward, who will be a new addition to the Antigo team.
