Peace Lutheran Guatemala Mission Team 2026 Fundraiser

The 2026 team is having a fundraising “walking taco dinner” at Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday 2/22/2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend and support this fundraising effort.

A team of 16 from Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo will be traveling to Guatemala in May 2026 on a short-term mission trip. They will be partnering with Pray America in serving widows and orphans in Mayan communities in the mountainous region of Chichicastenango and surrounding communities in NW Guatemala. Throughout the week, our team will learn about the Mayan culture and focus on building relationships while sharing the gospel and love of Jesus through the various ministry programs such as the after school children’s education and soccer programs, making home visits, and helping at outreach programs where Bible classes are held for children & widows. 

We will also do various building projects to meet the needs of individual families. It will be a very full and fulfilling week! The 2026 Team from the Antigo Area includes: Dan & Sarah Stoehr, Pastor Dave & Shelly Karolus, Ed & Kathy Steger, Rich & Gail Luedtke, Joan Bauknecht-Peterson, Dan Smith, Tiffany Smith, Jeff & Jennifer Behm, and Danielle Storch & sons Graylin & Max. There will also be eight additional team members who are friends or family of the Antigo group. The team is comprised of 18 adults and 6 youth/teens. The 2026 Mission Trip Fundraiser on Sunday February 22nd from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 300 Lincoln Street is to help cover building & other project costs. The community is invited to attend and support this fundraising effort.
