Take a closer look at what you can do to stop aquatic invasive species in this presentation held at MCPL Wausau

Posted

Invasive species pose a significant threat to our beautiful Wisconsin waterways, but you can help protect these natural resources! Adults are invited to a partnered presentation between the Marathon County Public Library and Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. held at MCPL Wausau (300 N. First St., Wausau) on June 11. To give folks multiple chances to attend, this program will host two sessions: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Chris Hamerla, Aquatic Services & AIS Coordinator for Golden Sands, will present a closer and engaging look at the invasive species impacting local waters. Chris will highlight common invaders found in Wisconsin, explain how they affect native ecosystems, and share simple, practical ways of how anyone can help protect native species. Both sessions will meet upstairs in the library’s spacious Community Room.

This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230.
