The 2014 North Woods Women in Business Week took place Oct. 20-24, 2014. Recently, the winner of the week was announced. Schulz Heating and Cooling Ltd. of Antigo received the award for their achievements and contributions to the growth and development of the north woods business, civic, and cultural landscapes.

National Women in Business Week provides an opportunity to gain attention for women entrepreneurs, share information about successful workplace policies, and raise awareness on the number of resources available for working women in their communities.

Voting took place this year between Oct. 14 and Oct. 22. During that time anyone was able to vote for a local business woman to receive the award. All nominations were placed on the Antigo Area Shoppers’ Facebook page. Facebook “likes” were tallied for each individual nominee and the winner was then decided based on those “likes.”

The Antigo Area Shopper published a special section in our Oct. 14 issue recognizing the area business women.

Schulz Heating and Cooling Ltd. owner, Linda Schulz, along with employees Sara Warren and Katie Parizek accepted the award for the company.
