David William Jackson, 76

David W. Jackson, 76, Birnamwood, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born on August 6, 1939 in Iowa County, the son of the late Ira and Bernice (Starr) Jackson.
In 1959, David was united in marriage to Frances Foote, they later divorced. On July 2, 1994, David was united in marriage to Grace Groshek in Birnamwood. She survives.
David worked as a farm hand during high school; he then worked at Chevy Garage MP and Wisconsin Pole Buildings. In 1960, David started working for Wick Building Systems and worked there until retiring in 2005. He loved his life on his hobby farm and enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all; he enjoyed his coffee time with all his friends.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Jackson, Birnamwood; children, Sherry (Cornelius) Reeder, Madison, Lisa (Rex) Carlson, Elderon and Paula (Tim) Sharon, Antigo; grandchildren, Matthew Hale, Marissa DeYoung, Eric and Jacob Sharon, Brett Carlson and Melanie Mackey and great-grandchildren, Gabriella Ponce and Phoenix Mackey; one step-daughter, Katherine (Joe) Villiard, Shawano; step-grandchildren, Mariah, Thristan, Makaylen, Karisa, Hailey, Kloe, Josie Lynn and Josiah; one sister, Beverly (Jim) Hoernke, Dodgeville and brother, Phil Jackson, Hartford. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Jackson; grandparents, David and Grace Starr and William and Mary Jackson; a niece, Brenda Jackson; a sister-in-law, Betty O’Leary; all of his aunts and uncles and a cousin Linda Rowe.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2pm-6pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. There will be a Prayer Service at 4pm with Deacon David Ashenbrenner officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared at schmidtschulta.com.
