Renae J. Klingensmith, 85

Renae J. Klingensmith, 85, of Laona, joined her beloved husband, Jackson, in heaven on Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was born on February 21, 1931 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late William and Katheryn (Olson) Bradley. She married John (Jackson) Klingensmith on June 12, 1954 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1992.

She was a graduate of Laona High School with the class of 1949.

Together, Renae and Jackson, spent many Christmas Eves making Santa Claus visits to the children and families of Laona. Renae was a long time member of the Laona Women’s Auxiliary. Renae was always grateful that she lived in a small community which she loved and supported just as they supported her over the years.

Survivors include four daughters, Vicki Howen, Laona, Cheryl (Raymond) Bauer, Laona, Jean (Mike) Tiede, Wabeno, Diana (C. William) Schneider, Pearson; three sons, John (Debbie) Klingensmith, Jr., Laona, Larry (Vicky) Klingensmith, Wausau, Robert Klingensmith, Wabeno; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Alvey, Stevens Point; a brother, Bernie (Jean) Bradley, Milwaukee; and a brother-in-law, Terry McCarville, Custer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Klingensmith, son-in-law, Gary Howen; sister, Bonnie McCarville; and brother-in-law, Bill Alvey.

Her life will be celebrated May 8, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Klingensmith’s Bar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cook-Elfors Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6823, 5233 Beech Street, Laona, WI 54541.
