Kenneth Alfred Krause, 66
Kenneth A. Krause, 66, Birnamwood, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home.
He was born on November 2, 1949 in Wausau, the son of the late Alfred and Meta (Wege) Krause.
Ken graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1968; he then went on to school at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both History and Economics. After college, Ken served in the Peace Corp in Costa Rica working for the Ministry of Agriculture until 1975. He then moved back to Birnamwood and worked on the family farm. After he retired from farming, Ken worked for Eastbay for over 10 years. Ken enjoyed reading and was a history and sports statistics buff.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary (Andrew) Peterson, Elderon and Faythe (Daniel) Nowitzke, Wautoma; his nieces and nephews, Tracy (Derek) Dombeck, Chad (Shelley) Peterson, Maxx (Heidi) Nowitzke and Katy Nowitzke. He is also survived by his aunt, Evelyn Jacobson, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by an aunt, Leona Genrich and uncles, Ervin Wege and Henry Krause.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
