Rita Dettman, 78

Rita Dettman, of Bryant, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at her home. She was 78 years old. She was born on June 21, 1938 in Antigo, a daughter of Felix and Theresa (Petroskey) Spychalla. She married Donald Dettman on January 21, 1961 in New Mexico. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1990.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School.
Rita worked at Briggs and Stratton in Kenosha for a number of years and after marriage lived in California for two years.
She and her family returned to Antigo and Elcho area in 1963. In 1969 the they moved to Bryant where she enjoyed raising her family.
She enjoyed fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, baking, feeding and watching the birds, playing cards and cribbage, and long rides on Sunday afternoons.
Rita had been a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church in Neva for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Michael) Dettman-Smith, North Port, Florida; a son, Kenneth Dettman (Diane Fuller), Eland; a sister, Sr. Theresita Spychalla, Stevens Point.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Sr. Dolorea Spychalla.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place in Elcho Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 8th at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9th also at the funeral home.
