Laura Burkhart Shidell, age 55, of Bryant died Tuesday, October, 18, 2016 at Mountview Care Center in Wausau.
Laura was born on December 10, 1960 in Antigo to Floyd Burkhart and the late Doris (Cunningham) Burkhart.
She was united in marriage to Brian Shidell on May 3, 1997 at the First Baptist Church in Antigo.
Laura worked as a certified nursing assistant for various facilities. She was later a medical assistant for Dr. Keener and Dr. Turnbull. Most recently she worked as an administrative assistant for County Materials in Marathon.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Antigo and was currently a member at Wausau Bible Church. She worked with Seekers and served on the Mission Committee at her church.
Laura loved to cross stitch, scrapbook, collect angels and play Scrabble with her grandmother.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her father Floyd Burkhart of Bryant, a stepdaughter, Ariel Shidell, of Mosinee, a stepson, Jordon Shidell of Mosinee, 3 sisters, Lalie (Steve) Wilke of Lake Mills, Linda (fiance Nigel Ramos) Burkhart of Bryant, Sarah (David) Borneman of Deerbrook, 2 brothers, Frank and Floyd Burkhart both of Bryant and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church. Reverend Dick Kendall and Joseph Gaunt will officiate.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the service.
Interment will be in Bent Cemetery in Bryant.
