Abbie G. Bentley, 95

Abbie G. Bentley, of Antigo, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Colonial Manor Medical & Rehabilitation Center in Wausau. She was 95 years old. She was born on April 11, 1922 in Antigo, a daughter of the late Mark and Ruth (Kramer) Mosher. She married Herbert Parsons on June 21, 1944, he preceded her in death on April 20, 1985. She married Merrill Bentley on September 26, 1987, he preceded her in death on December 15, 2002.

Abbie worked at Kingsbury’s Photo Shop in Antigo developing and tinting photos and was the store clerk. She also worked at Vulcan Corporation and Parsons Cafe. Abbie farmed with her husband Herbert in the town of Polar and the town of Vilas.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, reading and gardening. She played the guitar and organ.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca (Jeff) Schenk of Antigo; two sons, Daniel Parsons and Steven Parsons both of Rothschild; five grandchildren, Mark (Amanda) Parsons, Brian (fiancé Julia) Parsons, Jessi (fiancé Karisa) Schenk, Amber (Tony) Price and Julie Schenk; three great grandchildren, Harli, Brianna and Martina. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Parsons; two brothers, Austin Mosher and Alvin Mosher; three sisters, Lorraine Roberts, Myrtle Halama and Viola Puckett.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Wes Jedras officiating. Burial will take place at Forestview Cemetery in the town of Vilas. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
