Carol Ann Eiter, 84
Antigo, Madison, Lake Worth, FL – Carol Ann Eiter, age 84, died on November 5, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Janesville, WI. She was born on December 6, 1932 in Langlade County, Wisconsin to the late Anthony and Gertrude Walk. Following graduation from Antigo High School in 1950, she attended the Mercy School of Nursing in Oshkosh, WI. She married Robert (Bob) P. Eiter on November 5, 1952 and passed away on their sixty-fifth anniversary.
For many years, she and her husband ran the “pro shop” at the Antigo-Bass Lake County Club. After Bob’s retirement from his golf professional duties, Carol and Bob moved to Lake Worth, Florida, year-round and lived there for several years before moving to Madison to be closer to their daughter and her family. In Florida, she belonged to the Holy Name of Jesus Christ church of Lake Worth. In Madison, she attended Our Lady Queen of Peace church.
Carol was at the center of almost everything that happened at the Greentree Glen senior housing apartment where she lived for over 11 years. She tended the flowers she planted with her daughter and son-in-law each summer and decorated the facility for many holidays. She was always active and was most happy to assist her many friends at Greentree Glen. She took great pleasure in telephone visits with family and friends in northern Wisconsin.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert on March 17, 2015. Survivors include her son Robert, Jr. (Wendy) of Fayetteville, AR; a daughter Lu (Duane) Schuettpelz of Madison, WI; and two grandsons, Brent (Whitney) Schuettpelz and Craig (Sara Harkins) Schuettpelz both of Denver, CO. She is further survived by sister Jane Donohue and brother Harry (Evelyn) Walk both of Antigo. She was preceded in death by her sisters Elizabeth Lukowicz of Antigo and Georgia Tesch of Green Bay.
Our wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend will be dearly missed. We love you and will miss you every day. Please take a moment to reflect on, and celebrate Carol’s life and then also take some time to celebrate your own life and acknowledge your family and friends. Carol would have loved that. In honoring Carol’s and Bob’s request, a private family service for both will be held at the Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorials for Carol may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Madison, WI.
