Christine Keen, of Perch Lake, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at her home. She was 94 years old. She was born on January 2, 1924, in Town of Norwood, a daughter of the late Wenzel and Clara (Butler) Hayek. She married Wilbur Keen on February 19, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2007.

She attended St. Joseph Grade School in Phlox and was a graduate of Mattoon High School.

Christine worked in Racine for the Massey Harris Company in the tank division. Returning to Antigo she worked for the Thorp Finance Corporation. Upon marriage she moved with her husband to Milwaukee, where she later worked for the Gimbels Department Store. In 1984 she retired and moved to Perch Lake.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho.

She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bowling, knitting and ceramics. Her greatest joy was being with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Mike) Zuba of Butler and Pat (Boyd) Buyck of Danvers, MN; four sons, Gerry (Kara) Keen of Memphis, TN, Mike (Kathy) Keen of Antigo, Paul Keen of Pearson and Bob (Laurie) Keen of Stevens Point; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Now of Appleton and Caroline “Pat” Verhasselt of Antigo. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Idell Price, Helen Brooks, Rosie Schultz and Dorothy Rank; and three brothers, Clarence Hayek, Wenzel Hayek, Jr. and Richard Hayek.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Rev. Dave Zimmerman officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Phlox. Visitation will be Monday, August 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. A parish wake service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 6 p.m.
