Donald D. Aggen, 91

Donald “Don” D. Aggen, 91 of Wittenberg, WI, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Rennes Health and Rehab, Weston, under the care of Ministry Hospice, Wausau.

He was born on August 21, 1927 in Wittenberg to the late Edward and Myrtle (Long) Aggen. Don served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married Hazel Erickson on November 6, 1948 in Birnamwood. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2016.

Don owned and operated Aggen Real Estate Agency in Wittenberg for many years, and was also a dairy farmer. He was an active member of the Wittenberg Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife Hazel, and fishing. One highlight for Don was to participate in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

Survivors include his children, Philip (Marlene) Aggen of Germantown, David (Carol) Aggen of Wausau, Carolyn (Steve) Becker of Cincinnati, Kenneth (Patti) Aggen of Pine Island, MN, Kathryn (Ron) Whitehead of Chanhassen, MN, and Barbara (Robert) Burrow of Camarillo, CA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Marion Murphy of FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel, and his brother Ray.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Lois Graper will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, town of Morris, where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the time of service at the church.
