Jack Nelson, 82

Jack Nelson, age 82, of Elcho, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his home.
Jack was born on May 4, 1936 to the late Shirley and Pearl (Cummings) Nelson.
On June 18, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lynn Reynolds. She survives.
Jack was journeyman pressman at Daniels Packaging, later known as Banta, then Printpack. He also worked for the Town of Elcho as a transfer station attendant at the sanitation department.
He served on the Elcho Fire Department and at one time served as their chief.
Jack enlisted in the US Army, and served from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of American Legion Post 377 and the 40 et 8.
He loved the outdoors, deer hunting and mowing grass. He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. He met many people in his job, and he enjoyed meeting and visiting with them.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Joan (significant other, Lawrence) Gehrig of Texas; four sons, Mike Nelson of Elcho, Jim (Mary) Nelson of Antigo, Richard Nelson of Racine, Tom (significant other, Janet) Nelson of Elcho; 10 grandchildren, Corbin, Josh, Savanna, Christopher, David, Michael, TJ, Anna, Michael, and Hunter; 3 great grandchildren, Marcos, Pablo, and Josh, Jr.; 2 brothers in law, John Jacobs and Donald “Shorty” Kramer; and 3 sisters in law, Jackie Reynolds, Pat Wald, and Elaine Reynolds.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy Kramer and Joanne Jacobs; and his beloved cat and buddy, Lucy.
