FOR ANTIGO TIMES

Dan Marzu, Lincoln & Langlade County Agriculture Extension Educator

Lincoln County UW-Extension 801 N. Sales Street Merrill, WI 54452 715-539-1078

Langlade County UW-Extension 837 Clermont Street Antigo, WI 54409 715-627-6236

Do you plan on using a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) and produce an agricultural commodity on your property or your employer’s property? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then you are a Private Applicator. As a Private Applicator, you must receive training and certification to apply RUPs. To receive training and certification, purchase and study the Private Applicator Training manual from your County Extension office and do one of two options:

1) Self-study and then go to your County Extension office and take the test for certification, or

2) Go to a training session offered by your County Extension Office and then complete the test at the end of the training.

Training in the General Farming Category will be offered by Langlade County Extension on February 21st at the Resource Center, Eau Claire River Room, 837 Clermont Street in Antigo. Another training will be held by Lincoln County Extension on March 1st at the Lincoln County Service Center, Room 156, 801 N. Sales Street in Merrill. Both of the trainings begin at 9:00 am. The certification exam will take place after lunch. You do not need to attend the training to take the test.

If interested, please stop by either the Lincoln or Langlade County Extension offices to register and pick up your training manual at least one week before the scheduled training session. A $35 Fee includes the PAT Manual and instructional materials.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Dan Marzu, Agriculture Extension Educator, at the Lincoln County Extension Office at 715-539-1078 or the Langlade County Extension Office at (715) 627-6236.
