Suzanne “Suzie” Tomany died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at her home in Deerbrook. She was 81 years old.

She was born June 15, 1937 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Roy and Genevieve (Sauncey) Vick. She married George Marshall, and he preceded her in death. She later married David “Diggers” Tomany on June 8, 1968 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bloomville, and he survives.

Suzie was raised in Milwaukee, and moved with her family to Antigo in 1950. She graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1955. She was employed at Peoples Bank, Edelman Meats, Swanson’s Wagon Wheel, owned and operated Tomany’s Grocery, and then was employed at Piggly Wiggly.

She enjoyed country music, camping, fishing, and growing plants and flowers. She found pleasure in feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. Suzie often participated in the Fuddfest productions, and fashioned her own costumes for the shows. She was a sports fan, following racing, the Bucks, Brewers, and Packers. She was also a dog lover, and her family was most important to her.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include 2 daughters, Victoria Tomany of Shawano, and Jennifer Packard of Antigo; 3 sons, Jeff (Michele) Tomany of Gleason, Patrick (Jenny) Tomany of Hiles, and Richard (Greta) Tomany of Pelican Lake; 2 brothers, Tom (Adeline) Vick of Wausau, and Tracy (Diane) Vick of California; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; stepfather, Walter Scott; a sister Maureen Scott Teal; and brother, Tim Vick.

A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Forestview Cemetery in the spring.
