All Saints Catholic School Participated in the Statewide Science Olympiad

The competition was held at UW Stout on Saturday, March 16. This is the seventh year All Saints Catholic School has competed in this event. Science Olympiad is an international STEM competition that involves various events that challenge students in ways that may not be offered at the middle and high school levels. The creation of electric cars, constructing gliders, and working with college-level anatomy/physiologyare just some examples of the events encountered through this competition. This year’s team consisted of the following students: Juli Bauknecht, Emmett Braun, Izzy Chrudimsky, Ashton Olson, Brett Powell, Kaitlin Pranke, Jacob Adamski, Mitch Meyer, and Zander Reetz.
The following students placed in the Top 6 in the statewide competition:
Geocaching (Jake Adamski, Mitch Meyer): 1st
Heredity (Izzy Chrudimsky, Kaitlin Pranke): 2nd
Battery Buggy (Jake Adamski, Mitch Meyer): 2nd
Solar System (Zander Reetz, Mitch Meyer): 5th
Elastic Launch Glider (Brett Powell, Kaitlin Pranke): 6th
This year’s team, coached by Gordon Hoeldtke, placed 8th out of 28 competing schools.
