Antoinette A. Honzik, 83
Antoinette A. Honzik, of Deerbrook, died Monday, May 27, 2019 in Antigo at the home of her beautiful caregiver for the last 7 years, granddaughter Tanya and her husband Joe Miglieri, with her family at her side. She was 83 years old. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Cudahy, Wisconsin to Stanley and Pauline (Krueger) Kinski, one of 27 children. She married Daniel J. Honzik on June 4, 1958 at St. Wencel Catholic Church.
She was raised in the Cudahy area, attending and graduating from Holy Family Catholic School. Following marriage, she and Daniel operated a family dairy farm in Neva, raising 9 children and milking cows for 30 years. After farming, she worked for several years at the Weinbrenner shoe store, Super 8 motel, K-Mart and Walmart. She dearly loved and cherished her 9 children, and her beloved 16 grandchildren and 19 great – grandchildren who knew her as GG.
She was a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church in Neva and taught catechism there for several years
She loved creating her various unique crafts for church events, including wreaths, hats, Halloween pumpkins, Christmas boxes and loved sewing. She simply loved gardening, and baking the most awesome bread, cookies and so many other sweets. Going fishing, playing the lottery, and the casino brought the biggest smile whenever she went.
Survivors include four sons, Jeff (Lisa) Honzik, San Diego, California, Sam Honzik, Antigo, Chris (Kelly) Honzik, Neva, Bruce (Jenny) Honzik; two daughters, Theresa (Jim) Hitz, Bryant, and Paula (Harry) Hitt, Antigo. Surviving 16 grandchildren are Jake, Kyle, Tanya, Lance, Marie, Ashley, Sarah, Joe, Mike, Daniel, Travis, Kelsey, Kasey, Katie, Hunter and Trapper. Surviving 19 great-grand children are Payton, Joey, Riley, Taylor, Gabriel, Lily, Scarlett, Harper, Leo, Kale, Maryella, Maverick, Michael, Maxwell, Bowen, Chris, Tula-Sue, Cash, and Jax.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel (2009) and three daughters, Beth Honzik (1977), Mary Markgraf (1998), and Jackie Bauknecht (2001).
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday May 31, 2019, at 1 p.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Zach Weber officiating. Burial will take place in St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and on Friday from 11 to 12:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
