Arthur G. Lamon, 76

Arthur G. Lamon, of Antigo, died Monday, June 24, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital at the age of 76. He was born on March 10, 1943, in Jackson County, WI a son of the late George and Lestencia (Harmes) Lamon. He married Shirley Quick on September 25, 1964, in Lancaster, Missouri.
Mr. Lamon served in the United States Army for two years followed by six years in the Army National Guard.
Art worked as a roofer for Langer Roofing and Sheet Metal in Milwaukee. He was a construction worker for Burger Construction in Wausau. He worked in the Inland Steel Iron Mine in Jackson County for 10 years. Art and his wife Shirley moved to Antigo in 1983 and Art started working for Kolbe and Kolbe as a painter. He retired in 2009 and worked part-time for Walmart for 5 years.
Art was a member of Faith Center Church of God in Antigo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, puzzles, John Wayne and action movies. He was a proud father and grandfather. He loved his Pomeranian, Shayla.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Deanne (Ken) Peterka of Bloomington, MN, Tina (special friend Mark Tabbert) Opper of Birnamwood and Casey (fiancé Randy Siegers) Evon of Weston; two sons, Jason (Kristin) Lamon of Shakopee, MN and Shane (special friend Melanie Corey) Lamon of Appleton; 15 grandchildren, Cassandra, Samantha, Kyle, Brandi, Conner, Destani, Bennett, Jackson, Brady, Kayden, Sloane, Jettson, Kensley, Veronica and Paul; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jennie (Mark) Drangstviet of Black River Falls; two brothers, Willard Lamon of Tomah and David (Lynn) Lamon of Menomonee; two half-sisters, Gloria Stelling of Janesville and Leila Krienke of Beloit; and a half-brother, Charles Lamon of Wausau.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother and sister in infancy, Betty and Charles; sisters, Georgia Ellison, Virginia Valljio, Jane Burazin, Joyce Lamon, Sharon Iverson, and Jean Prescott; and brothers, Bernard, George Jr., Richard, and James.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Faith Center Church of God at the corner of Hwy 45 and County Road G in Antigo, with Rev. Steven Pool officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 12 to 2 p.m.
Antigo Veterans will provide military honors following the service at the church.
