Antigo JV Football Defeated by Medford

Antigo’s JV football team lost on Monday night, October 7th to Medford by a score of 44-14. The team didn’t start well and gave up two quick TD’s after a fumble and a botched punt. Down 14-0 in the second quarter, the team scored on a 48 yard TD pass from Zach Zupon to Ryan Zima that brought the score to 14-6. Medford responded on their next possesion with a 70 yard TD run for a 22-6 score at halftime. Antigo’s defense came up with the next score as Zupon intercepted a pass and returned it 96 yards for a TD. That made the score 22-14. The defense held on the next possession and the offense drove to Medford’s 10 yard line before giving it up on downs. After that, Medford scored on several big plays and Antigo failed to respond.
The JV team is 4-2 and hosts Wausau East next Monday, October 14th.
