Jeff Stilen, 55
Jeff Stilen, of Deerbrook, died Sunday, October 11, 2020, at his home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 55 years old. He was born on January 27, 1965, in Clintonville, number ten of twelve children to George and Christine “Tina” (Trice) Stilen.
He graduated from Elcho High School with the class of 1984. He served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1983 to 1989. In 1986 he received the Army Achievement Medal for rendering assistance to injured crew members.
For 34 years he was a crane operator with the Operating Engineers Local 139. He retired in January of this year from Lunda Construction Company where he was known as “Big Dad”.
Jeff enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, fishing, and road hunting for grouse. He was an active member of and groomed trails for the Snow Devil’s Snowmobile Club for many years. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his father, George of Embarrass; five sisters, Barbara (Greg) Moldenhauer of New London, Betty (Tim) Miller of Bear Creek, Cindy (John) Nassen of Iola, Bev (Scott) Zempel of Clintonville and Jane (Pat) Bessette of Bear Creek; three brothers, Ken (Mary) Stilen of Cornell, Rick Stilen of Deerbrook and Dave (Mary) Stilen of Deerbrook; brother-in-law, Michael Lorge of Bear Creek; sister-in-law, Rhonda Stilen of Bogalusa, Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine; sisters, Donna Lorge and Jill Stilen; a brother, Donald Stilen; a niece, Dawn Barches and nephew, AJ Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with his nephew, Casey Zempel officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Kempster Lakeside Cemetery.
