Antigo Area Community Food Pantry August 11th 11am-1pm (Wed.) & August 13th 1pm-3pm (Fri.), 2120 Progress Blvd., Antigo (715) 623-1103. We ask that all individuals wishing to use the Food Pantry wait in cars, or outside and a volunteer will provide direction as to service. Elcho Area Community Food Pantry August 9th & August 16th 2:30-4:30pm (Mon.), August 11th 4-6pm (Wed.), 11224 Antigo St., Elcho. You will receive pre-packed bags of basic food items. Tell the volunteer how many in your family and if you have a specific need for something. Thank you for your cooperation. Monday’s Women’s Bike Ride August 9th & August 16th 5:30-7pm Aspirus Langlade Hospital, lot F, 112 E. 5th Ave., Antigo. Want to ride bike with others? We may have a group for you! The Monday Night Women’s Bike Rides will typically meet in the Aspirus Hospital Parking Lot “F” at 5:30 p.m. This is located behind St Joseph’s Annex, east of Langlade Road. Once a month, they will meet somewhere different in the county (underlined dates below). The alternative rides start at 5:45pm. Please email Mary Jo Filbrandt for directions and a route for these alternative rides. There will be up to groups with a 10-12 mile route and a 20-25 mile route. A bike helmet is required. Music in the Park – Starlight Polka Band August 9th Food starting at 5:30pm; concerts start 6pm City Park West, 230 block of Aurora St., Antigo. Bring your lawn chairs & listen to the Music in the Park! Concerts held every Monday & Thursday, June-August. In the event of severe weather, concerts are held at the Heinzen Pavilion in Peaceful Valley. Free admission. Tuesday Geezer Bike Ride August 10th 9:30am Peaceful Valley Playground, 420 Field St., Antigo. The Tuesday Geezer bike rides start at 9:30am from the Peaceful Valley Playground, weather permitting. All are welcome. The group normally rides less traveled town and county roads. The distance depends on how far the participants want to go. Sometimes the group splits up for those who want to go shorter distances and those who might like longer rides. We also try to include areas with interesting vegetation and wildlife. Magic Dragons August 10th 1-2pm Antigo Public Library 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Do you like dragons? Do you like magic? Let’s combine the two to learn a little more about mystical dragons. Then we will finish with a few easy to learn magic tricks. Participants will receive a take and learn kit to learn more at home. Presented in cooperation with 4-H. Lincoln County 4-H Fair August 11th-15th at the Merrill Festival Grounds, 2105 E. 6th St., Merrill. Here is the time to come out & see what the children of Lincoln County have grown. Wednesday Group Bike Ride August 11th 4pm Langlade County Courthouse, 800 Clermont St., Antigo. The Group Bike Ride meets in the parking lot of the Langlade County Courthouse. The ride leaves at 4pm and usually returns at about 6:30pm. Routes are determined by the weather and attendees. The length of the ride is approximately 30-40 miles. Elcho Music in the Park – Bear Creek Band August 11th 6pm The Jack Lamar Memorial/Elcho Community Pavilion, N11283 Dorr Street, Elcho. Admission is free. Food will be available to purchase starting at 5pm. All Elcho Music in the Park performances will be performed on the grass in front of the pavilion, rain or shine!

Antigo Farmer’s Market August 14th 8am-Noon Heinzen Pavilion, 603 6th Avenue, Antigo. All produce is locally grown by the vendor who sells them. Shopping at the Antigo Farmer’s Market is a great way to get local, in season food, and make connections with the people that grew it.
Antigo Tater Trot August 14th 8-Noon Antigo City Park, located 4 blocks east of Hwy 45 on Aurora St., Antigo. New for 2021 – Virtual or in-person! 10K & 1 mile runs, a 3.75-mile timed walk/run. Start & finish at Antigo City Park. Times are as follows: 1-mile fun run – 8:30am, 10k competitive run – 9am, 3.75-mile run/walk – 9:05am. Paved streets & country roads with short sections of gravel. Mike Pomasl Memorial Golf Outing August 14th Maplewood Golf Course, N9240 Hwy. 55, Pickerel. Golf, music, raffles, contests & food make this one of the area’s must-do events. A fun 9-hole tournament with plenty for non-golfers, too. Come one, come all, bring the family & enjoy music, raffles, food & a great atmosphere of community. Members of the Pickerel Rescue Squad will be on hand during the even talking about the department, services & cooking and serving the golfers & guests during the event. Elton Evergreen Days Celebration Aug. 14th 11am-9pm Elton School House, Elton. Join us for a day filled with fun, games, music, and camaraderie!! There will be vendors, crafters, food & refreshments, raffles, bake sale, cornhole tournament & a corn roast. From 11am-2pm Hatchy’s Sugar Shack with ice cream & frozen novelties; 12-3pm Kid’s games & face painting. There will also be on-stage entertainment: 11am-2:30pm Grudgeville Grass – bluegrass; 2:304-4:30pm Silent Auction; 4:30-5pm Adult games; 5-9pm Sam Mauk & Marshall Williams – a little country, a little kick! Harvest for Our Youth August 14th 5:30-9:30pm Stone Wall Acres, W9219 Cty. Rd. D, Antigo. Harvest for Our Youth a Farm to Table event is the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwoods 3rd annual fundraiser. Enjoy a locally-sourced meal prepared by favorite local chef Amber Fick. There you will enjoy a delectable 4-course meal, specialty drinks, along with wine and spirits tasting. $125 per person. Water Walker Ski Show August 14th 6-7:15pm Sunset View Resort & Tavern, 11594 Post Lake Dr., Elcho. We’re bringing back the fun & memories of summertime on Post Lake! The Water Walkers Ski Show Team out of Wausau will be performing & providing FREE, family-friendly entertainment with costumed skiers performing to toe-tapping music with entertaining announcing in front of Sunset View Resort & Tavern. The show is free to attend. Donation buckets will be passed at intermission. A 50/50 raffle will be held throughout the show with the winning ticket drawn after our final pyramid. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to distance yourself from others while you relax lakeside & enjoy the entertainment! Boaters welcome! 10th Annual Summer Swing Golf Outing August 16th 1-6:30pm Bass Lake Golf Course, W10650 Bass Lake Rd., Deerbrook. This is a 4 person scramble with a shotgun start at 1 pm. It is $75 per person or $50 for Bass Lake Members, which includes 18 holes of golfing with a cart, dinner, and tip. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Tuesday Concert Series – The Drovers August 17th 6-8pm Bandshell, Washington Park, Wittenberg. Free admission. Donations are welcome. Bring your lawn chairs, beverages, a picnic or snacks. There will be food for sale, including Lion’s cheese curds! There will also be a 50/50 raffle. In case of bad weather, the concert will move to the WOWSPACE.
