Antigo Area Community Food Pantry May 18th 11am-1pm (Wed.) & May 20th 1pm-3pm (Fri.), 2120 Progress Blvd., Antigo (715) 623-1103. We ask that all individuals wishing to use the Food Pantry wait in cars, or outside and a volunteer will provide direction as to service. Our monthly donation focus for May will be Personal care items: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, floss, deodorant, feminine hygiene products. Elcho Area Community Food Pantry May 16th & May 23rd 2:30-4:30pm (Mon.), May 18th 4-6pm (Wed.), 11224 Antigo St., Elcho. Individuals will receive a checklist of food items and can indicate their selections then submit the list. Food will be distributed based on availability and # of family members. Note that the pantry is not open on holidays, or on days when the schools are closed because of snow. (715) 275-5010.
Summer in the Northwoods Art Show & Sale May 11th – August 10th AVA Art Gallery, Langlade County Historical Society, 404 Superior St., Antigo. Monday’s Women’s Bike Ride May 16th & May 23rd 5:30-7:30pm Aspirus Langlade Hospital, 112 E. 5th Ave., Antigo. Want to ride bike with others? We may have a group for you! The rides will typically meet in the Aspirus Hospital Parking Lot “F” at 5:30pm. This is located behind St Joseph’s Annex, east of Langlade Road. Once a month, they will meet somewhere different in the county (underlined dates below). The alternative rides start at 5:45pm. Please email Mary Jo Filbrandt for directions & a route for these alternative rides. There will be groups with a 10-15 mile route & a 20-25 mile route. A bike helmet is required. Wednesday Group Bike Ride May 18th 4pm Langlade County Courthouse, 800 Clermont St., Antigo. The group bike ride meets on Wednesdays in the parking lot of the Langlade County Courthouse. The ride leaves at 4pm and usually returns at about 6:30pm. Routes are determined by the weather & attendees. The length of the ride is approximately 30-40 miles. Car Seat Fitting Station May 18th 4-6pm Antigo Fire Department, 700 Edison St., Antigo. Free fitting station on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4-6pm at the City of Antigo Fire Department. Pickleball at White Lake School May 18th 6-8pm White Lake School Recreation Center, 405 Bissell St., White Lake. During the school year White Lake School hosts Pickleball in their small gym every Wednesday. Use the side door off Center Street to enter. Wolf River Chapter of Trout Unlimited Meet & Greet May 21st 8-9am Bear Paw Outdoor Adverture Center, N3494 Hwy. 55, White Lake. Come fish the mighty Wolf River with experienced Wolf River Chapter Anglers. The group will first meet at The Bear Paw Outdoor Adventure Resort, followed by fishing the river. Later the group will have lunch at a residence located on the Wolf River. Then experience the late afternoon hatch on the river for more exciting fishing! Wolfman Woman’s Bike Clinic May 21st 9am-1pm Nicolet Roche Trailhead, Campground Dr., White Lake. Want to tighten up your mountain biking skills or just learn altogether? Val Foley, who is a BICP Level 1 & PMBI Level 1 mountain bike coach & a Wolfman medalist, will be conducting the Wolfman Woman’s Bike Clinic. She’ll go through the basics, techniques & how to conquer the Wolfman bike course. The cost of the event is donation only, benefiting Little Bella’s Mountain Bike Organization. Take a Swing Out of Crime Golf Tournament May 21st 11:30am Bass Lake Country Club, W10650 Bass Lake Road, Deerbrook. This is a 4 person scramble with prizes on every hole! Registration begins at 11:30am with a 1pm shotgun start. Cost for 18 holes of golf with a cart & prizes. Cost is $100 for non-members & $50 for members.
