Snowshoe Baseball June 18th-August 27th (Every Mon.) 7:30pm Held at Snowshoe Park, Highway 47 & Choate Blvd., Lake Tomahawk. Snowshoe baseball is a game of softball played on snowshoes, using a 16 inch ball with no gloves. Concession stand opens at 5:30pm. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Preschool Story Time June 20th 10:30-11:15am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

4th Annual Wolf River Paddle & Pedal June 23rd Shawano. Between 7:15 & 8:30am drop off your bicycle at the Hwy. CCC boat landing & canoe or kayak at Lieg Ave. boat landing in Judd Park in Shawano. Someone will be at both locations to watch your equipment. New this year are 2 walking routes to the boat landing from Mountain Bay Outfitters & yoga with Nikki at the boat landing before you take off. Launch by 9:15am, paddle down the Wolf River, all flat water, through natural areas, to Hwy. CCC – about 3 hours. Water & light snack available at CCC landing. Ride your bike back 8, 14, or 22 miles to Mountain Bay. Maps for routes will be available. Your boat will be shuttles from CCC back to Shawano for you. Motorcycle Training Course June 23rd & 24th 8am-4:30pm Northcentral Technical College, 312 Forrest Ave., Antigo. The cost of the class will be $259.40. The 16-hour Basic Motorcycle Rider course is designed for beginning riders & was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). Instructors are certified by the MSF & Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). It is taught off-street, out of traffic, and motorcycles & helmets are provided. The course consists of 6 hours of classroom & 10 hours of on-cycle instruction. The Basic Rider Course covers preparing to ride, turning, shifting & braking, street strategies, special situations, increasing riding skills, maintenance & insurance. Benefit for Team Kaydence June 23rd Noon Firefighter Grounds, Wabeno. We are having a benefit for Kaydence Wagnitz. Kaydence is a fun loving 8 year old that enjoys tractor shows, camping and anything outdoors. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a tumor in her brain stem. It is inoperable and she was given a short time to enjoy her little life. The family is doing everything they can to find other options. However, they all seem to conclude with the same outcome. With that in mind, we are hoping to make her dreams of travel a reality. Please help us give her the best life possible. The event will include kid’s games, a meat raffle and great food.
