Antigo 8th Grade Football takes loss to Tomahawk
For the Antigo Times
The 8th grade Antigo Boys Football Team dropped their 4th game of the year 20-8 to Tomahawk.
Two early miscues, one on a punt and a pick 6, put the Robins in a 14-0 hole. After that, the defense put the clamps on, only allowing 6 points the rest of the way. The strong defense was led by interior linemen Riley Leveque, Connor McCabe, Robby Hagerty, end Connor Cornelius and linebacker Trevor Tarras. McCabe had 2 forced fumbles. Tarras and Hagerty each had a fumble recovery. Safety Sam McCann added an interception to the effort.
Offensively, the team was able to move the ball up and down the field behind the rushing of Cornelius, Zach Roth and Jesse Ruppel. Roth scored the lone touchdown and Cornelius added the 2 point conversion. The passing game was highlighted by a nice completion from quarterback Landon Nelson to the sure handed Theodon Reetz.
Next up for the Robins is a road trip to Stratford on Tuesday, October 2nd.
