John Michael Zalewski, of Antigo, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 69 years old. He was born on September 8, 1945 in Antigo, a son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Nimtz) Zalewski. He married Eva Schall, the couple later divorced. She preceded him in death.

He was a 1966 graduate of Antigo High School.

Mr. Zalewski lived in California for 20 years where he was involved in gold prospecting. He returned to Wisconsin and worked on a ginseng farm in Marathon County until his retirement in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Marie Obry of Lena; a granddaughter; and brother, William (Betty) Behm of Bryant.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Cernoch and Patricia Stillwell; and three brothers, Tony, Al and Bob Zalewski.

No services will be held. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
