Doran Arrowood, 68
Doran Carl Arrowood, of Pickerel, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He was 68 years old.
He was born November 8, 1946 in Antigo, son of the late Bradley and Pauline (Clark) Arrowood. He married Gayle Borgwardt, who passed away on June 2, 1990. He later married Nancy (Dolezal) Jackson on October 24, 1998. Nancy survives and resides in Pickerel.
He graduated from Antigo High School in 1964. He then served in the US Army, and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Doran was the Coldwater Work Unit Supervisor for Northcentral District of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He was a previous resident of Lily.
He was a member of the American Legion, former Town Supervisor for the Town of Langlade, and former Assistant Fire Chief of the Town of Langlade Fire Department. He was a member of Arbutus Lutheran Church.
He was an avid Packer fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially during Doran Fest.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include 3 sons, Bradley (Kelly) Arrowood of Antigo, Robert (Tina) Arrowood of Minneapolis, David (Christine) Arrowood of New London; 2 stepdaughters, Jacque (Warren) Krause of Pickerel, and Shannon Jackson (Maynard) of Pickerel; 3 sisters, Barbara Marti (Bill) of Pine Island, MN, Janet (Scott) Williams of Wausau, and Jane Jerzak (Jim) of Eden, OH; 11 grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Abby, Grace, Ben, Liz, Caleb, Lilli, Sara, Jordan, and Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Arbutus Lutheran Church in Pearson, with Vicar Bob Wilkerson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, Antigo, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at church. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Lily Cemetery.
