Charles William Hintze, 90
Charles W. Hintze, 90, Wittenberg, formerly of Woodruff, died Tuesday, June 29, 2016 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Weston, under the care of Asera Care Hospice.
He was born on April 18, 1926 in Wausau, the son of the late Charles and Martha (Grosskoff) Hintze.
Charles was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific during WWII.
On August 23, 1947, Charles was united in marriage to Marion Heinrich in Wausau. She survives.
Charles worked as an accountant and purchasing manager for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for over 40 years. He served as President of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and was a member of the Lion’s Club. Charles was active in many church activities at his previous churches including: serving as treasurer, choir member, was a council member and was a member of the Men’s Club. Family was very important to Charles. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke or story.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Hintze, Wittenberg; one daughter, Sandra (Gary) Hanke, Wittenberg; four grandchildren, Roselind Hanke, Wittenberg, Michael Hintze, Cudahy, Marie (Scott) Emerson, South Milwaukee and Laura (Justin Stickles) Hintze, Cudahy; great-granddaughter, Katie Emerson; daughter-in-law, Linda Hintze, Cudahy and one sister, Alice (Melvin) Kuschel, CA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Funeral Service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg, with military rites conducted by the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post #502. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2pm until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
