For the Antigo Times

Antigo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the upcoming production of Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5 – The Musical.” This musical, based on the 1980’s hit movie, features music and lyrics written by Dolly Parton and book written by Patricia Renick.

Set in the late 70’s, the musical showcases how the power of friendship and office politics can help you move up the world. The story follows three office clerks and their accidental scheme to oust their “egotistical, sexist, hypocritical” boss. Upbeat and energetic music will keep you hoppin!

Auditions for the various roles will be August 30th at 6:00PM at Calvary Lutheran Church. The artistic direction is under Molly Gums and new to Antigo, Elise Schneider, will taking charge of the choreography. We are looking for singers, dancers, musical directors, and instrumentalists.

Performances will be held at the Volm Theatre of Antigo High School on Friday, November 4th through Sunday (matinee) November 6th and then reopen on Thursday November 10th through the 12th. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. except for the Sunday matinee, which begins at 2 p.m.

Everyone high school and older is invited to audition. ACT is also looking for people to help behind the scenes in the areas of publicity, programs, set construction and stage management. For more information, email us at actantigo@gmail.com or visit us on facebook at Friends of Antigo Community Theater.
