Angeline Violet Fischer, 96
Angeline Violet Fischer of Birnamwood, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was 96 years old.
She was born June 24, 1920 in Gresham, the daughter of the late John and Ella (Reinert) Fischer. Angeline was married to the late Edward John Fischer on November 9, 1940 in White Lake WI. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1994.
Angeline was a cook at Bowler Lumber Company when she met Edward. After their marriage they started a cattle farm outside of Mattoon. For many years she was Edward’s partner in running the farm and raising 6 children. Once her children were grown she continued her love of cooking and became a cook for the Antigo School system until she retired at age 62. Once retired, she spent her time enjoying her many grandchildren and pursuing her hobbies of fishing, camping and painting ceramics.
She was a member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic church in Phlox.
Angeline is survived by her brother Jack (Caroline) Fischer, Green Bay, along with 5 of her children, Edward (Julie) Bella Villa AR, Richard (Terri) Birnamwood, Jerold (Janice) Birnamwood, Kurt (Carla) Birnamwood and Jane Fischer, Clemmons NC; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Fischer, Antigo; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Angeline was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; sister, Burnell; son, Jeffery and great-grandsons Jacob and Andrew.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox. Fr. Charles Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Town of Hutchins, Shawano County. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9am until the time of services at the church.
