John W. Spencer, age 69, of Bryant died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 7 at UW- Madison Hospital.
John was born on December 11, 1946 to the late John William Spencer and Darlene Weber. He was raised by his paternal grandparents, George and Mima Spencer, who also preceded him in death.
On November 20, 1969, John was united in marriage to Cheryl Tackett at Bible Baptist Church in Antigo. She survives and resides in Bryant.
John was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1965.
He was employed at Amron Corporation for 41 years.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Cheryl, include a daughter, Jennifer (Tony) Hangartner of Polar, a son, Mark Spencer of Antigo, 8 sisters, Lorene (Gary) Vladik of Wabeno, Bobbi Lee (Patrick) Walker of Crandon, Laura Rebecca (Dave) Frazier of Pearson, Bette (Rodger) Zelechowski of Lily, Jean Doris Cullen, Lois Baker, Nancy Nicholson of Antigo, Denise Baker (Arthur Cunningham) of Georgia, 3 brothers, Harvey Edward (Joni) Baker of Lily, Greg Nicholson of Antigo, Doug Nicholson, 15 grandchildren, Michael, Chandler, Jon, Dylan, Jade, Danny, Christina, Rachealle, Tony, Tylar, Tia, Nathaniel, Jacob, Anna, Rudy, 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Emma, and Emma.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, John was preceded in death by a son Michael Spencer and 2 sisters Annie and Mavis Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Marvin Kindle will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be held privately in Bent Cemetery.
