Antigo Police & Langlade Co. Sheriff Reports for 2/27/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, February 13th
10:29 AM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Middle School reporting a problem with a male student. Officers talked with the male student and took him back to class.
11:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was cited for no insurance and was warned for their speed.
3:54 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that two females had been sitting in a green colored car behind a building on 5th Avenue for about 20 minutes. A male subject was taken into custody for obstructing, and a probation hold.
Tuesday, February 14th
7:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed. An educational pamphlet was distributed.
11:37 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a two vehicle accident. The male driver of one vehicle was cited for no insurance and inattentive driving. A traffic education pamphlet was distributed. One vehicle was towed. A report was filed.
3:56 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she was sitting in front of West Elementary School on 7th Avenue waiting for her child when a female resident of the area came out of a house and yelled at her to move her vehicle and that she could not park in front of her home or driveway. The caller told officers that she was at least 3 feet away from the driveway. She stated that the female subject was screaming and swearing at her. Officers also received another call at the same time from another female subject reporting that there was a blue Chevy Equinox parked very close to her driveway. This caller told officers that her mother was leaving for work and simply asked the woman in the parked car to move. She also told officers that after her mother left, the female subject walked into her house yelling and swearing and threatening to “kick her ass.”
8:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a crash on Edison Street. There were no injuries. The vehicle was drivable. A report was filed.
8:42 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that two male subjects were tapping on their windows. When the caller asked the males what they were doing, they appeared drunk and had a vodka bottle. The caller described the subjects as a shorter white male wearing a beanie hat and an African-American male about 5’7”. They were walking east on 6th Avenue. Officers stopped the male subjects. The juvenile white male subject was transported to a secure detention area and was cited for underage drinking. The African-American adult male subject was arrested for obstructing, resisting arrest and was cited for underage drinking.
Wednesday, February 15th
7:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
8:14 AM Officers responded to several reports of an accident at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. There were no injuries.
10:29 AM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred in the Antigo High School on 2/13/17.
2:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was in a minor crash by East Elementary School at 6th Avenue and Virginia Street.
Thursday, February 16th
1:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Dorr Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
12:05 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that there was a male subject on Edison Street, wearing a black hoodie, that was picking up ice chunks and throwing them at the windows of a building. The caller told officers the male subject “didn’t seem right” because he was talking to himself. Officers spoke with a male subject. He told officers that he had locked himself out of his apartment and he was throwing the ice at the windows to try and wake up his roommates. Officers told him that he needed to find another way to get in.
12:28 PM A female subject, living on Superior Street, came to the Safety Building to report that someone shot her cat that morning. She had let the cat out between 8 and 9am. It was not on a leash, so she was not sure where the cat had gone. The cat was alive and was at the vet clinic. The female subject had the bullet with her. Officers were investigating.
3:49 PM Officers were notified by a crossing guard that a vehicle went through the crossing guard at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers called the female driver and warned her about her driving habits.
Friday, February 17th
3:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a running car in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 with two small children inside. The caller told officers one child was an infant and the other child was about 2 years old. The vehicle was described as a tan Malibu. The male then called officers back stating that the female subject had come out of the business and left in the vehicle. He gave officers a license plate number, but it was incorrect. Officers were advised.
4:02 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 45. Property damage only.
5:23 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
6:12 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a jacked up yellow Jeep was heading southbound on Hwy. 45 and the driver was weaving all over the road. Officers stopped the vehicle on Neva Round. Officers advised the male driver of the complaint. The driver was not impaired.
8:07 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that some juveniles that were initially trying to play a prank at their business, were now seen at the business next door, trying to get in. Officers warned the juveniles about their behavior.
10:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was cited for unnecessary acceleration. A traffic education class was offered.
11:29 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that while his vehicle was parked on 7th Avenue, someone struck his vehicle taking off a mirror.
Saturday, February 18th
5:46 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had an adult male with two children, detained for retail theft. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
5:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a 7 day correction warning for non-registration.
7:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Pioneer Road. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
7:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed and was cited for no insurance.
8:34 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting 2 suspicious looking male subjects by the fairgrounds on Neva Road. The male subjects were described as being their mid-30s with long hair and beards. The caller told officers that the subjects had appeared to be looking at his vehicle when he approached them. The subjects then drove off towards North Avenue in a dark colored, possibly maroon, Buick. Officers were advised.
8:54 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject in a black trench coat was looking for a satanic temple. The caller told officers that the male subject was very upset that he couldn’t find a temple in the area and he said that he would do his own sacrifices. Officers were told to look for a smaller Mazda vehicle, gray or white in color. Officers could not find anyone matching that description.
9:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for defective headlamp.
10:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed and was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.
10:27 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
11:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a written warning for a defective headlamp.
11:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 4th Avenue. The driver was issued citations for operating without a license, not wearing a seatbelt and not having insurance.
Sunday, February 19th
12:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Maple Street. The driver was issued a written warning for an improper right turn.
1:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating without a license, 2nd offense and was cited for failure to fasten a seatbelt.
2:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deleglise Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense and was cited for a prohibited alcohol concentration and operating a vehicle with no lights on.
2:10 AM Officers were out with a subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The subject was cited for open intoxicants off premises.
2:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation and an authorized probation hold.
2:50 AM Officers were out with some subjects at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. Officers cited three subjects for having open intoxicants off premises.
2:52 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Nantasket Street reporting that a female subject that she knew was pounding on her door and threatening her. Officers found out that the two female subjects had been out together that night and became intoxicated. They then began arguing. Officers advised both females to avoid each other for the remainder of the night.
4:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt and was given a warning for an improper right turn.
11:05 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had an adult male shoplifter. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
1:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a car just hit her truck while it was parked on the street on 3rd Avenue.
2:56 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting an adult male shoplifter. The business had video of the incident. The male subject was referred for retail theft.
6:06 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only. A report was filed.
7:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Charlotte Street reporting noise from the neighboring tenants. The caller told officers that every day from 3pm to 4am, for three weeks, the neighbor had been making all kinds of noise. The caller requested that officers talk with them. Officers spoke with the female tenant. She was advised of the complaint.
Monday, February 20th
12:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Charlotte Street and Hwy. 64. The driver was cited for speed.
1:33 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was given a written warning for an improper left turn.
5:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. G. The driver was given warnings for an expired registration and no insurance.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, February 16th
1:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a reckless driver that was traveling westbound on Cty. Rd. S, near Polar. The caller stated that it was an older silver car, possibly a Nissan, which passed her and another vehicle at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hudson Street and 5th Avenue. The male driver from White Lake was spoken to about his driving habits.
Friday, February 17th
10:19 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. D. It was a car versus a pickup. It was unknown if there were any injuries. Officers received a second call from a male subject reporting the accident. He stated that there were no injuries. The vehicles were towed.
Monday, February 20th
8:57 PM Officers responded to a call from OnStar reporting that a female subject from Appleton slid off of the road at Hwy. 45 and Forest Road. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
9:27 PM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company that they were enroute for a vehicle that struck a culvert and a fence at Hwy. 64 and Gruenberg Road. Officers also received a call from the female driver reporting the accident. She had no injuries. There was no damage.
10:05 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at W. 5th Avenue and Hwy. 64. The vehicle was in about 1 ½ feet of water and was about 40 to 50 feet off of the road. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed.
10:17 PM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that a vehicle slid in the ditch at Hwy. 64 and Western Avenue by the dog park. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Tuesday, February 21st
2:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Cty. Rd. J reporting that his house was on fire. He told officers that there was a lot of smoke. Several fire crews were called in to extinguish the fire.
