Eugene A. Kuenzli, 89

Eugene A. Kuenzli, of Rhinelander, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home. He was 89 years old. He was born on March 4, 1928 in Antigo, a son of the late Anton and Marie (Selenske) Kuenzli. He married Arleen Flemming on May 26, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in Polar. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2012.

Eugene served in the United States Army. He was a supervisor at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee. Following retirement, Eugene and his wife moved to Rhinelander.

He was a member of the Horicon Marsh Quack Club.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling and time with his family. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a pilot, owning several small aircrafts in which he enjoyed many flights with family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine (fiancé Kyle Strong) Wilson of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Jeanie Cross, Amy (Brian) Bloomgren, Candice and Casey DeFord and Carlee (Marcus Godlewski) Wilson; 11 great-grandchildren, Keith, Amber, Will, Gavin, Abby, Jayden, NaTeaya, Cornelius Jr., Dalton, Liam and Angel; two great-great-grandchildren, Will and Bella; three sisters, Carol (John) Huber of Colorado, Ethel Edwards of New Mexico and Lauretta Zatloukal of Florida.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Cross; and a brother, Raymond Kuenzli.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Deacon Pam Werth officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 11 from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Antigo veterans will conduct military honors at the funeral home following the service.
