Henry Edward Meronk, 78

Henry Edward Meronk, 78, Birnamwood, died on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Homme Home of Wittenberg, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. He was born on June 24, 1938 in Hatley, the son of the lat Henry and Cecilia (Trzebiatowski) Meronk.
On September 8, 1962 Henry was united in marriage to Jane Mroczenski at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, Hatley. She survives.
Henry owned a dairy farm in Hatley for 30 years. He also owned and operated the Village Pump Tavern in Hatley for 11 years and worked for Schofield Enterprises. Henry enjoyed listening to polkas as well as country western music. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, Birnamwood; two children, Kelly (Mark) Shepherd, Wittenberg and Brian (Tracy) Meronk, Hatley; three grandchildren, Travis, Austin, and Jarrett and one sister Angeline Mroczenski, Germantown.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bertha Meronk, Lawrence Meronk, Clifford Meronk, Ernest Meronk, Evelyn Wanta, and Loretta Damask.
The funeral service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Fr. Greg Bohren will officiate. Interment will be in St. Florian’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:30AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared at schmidtschulta.com.
The family would like to thank the Homme Home of Wittenberg and Aspirus Hospice for the compassionate care given to Henry.
