Gerhard Tiedermann, 80

Gerhardt Tiedemann, of Antigo, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 80 years old. He was born on November 13, 1936 in Antigo, a son of Nicolaus and Freida (Brennecke) Tiedemann. He married Susan Lenzner on July 16, 2009 in Antigo. She survives.

He attended Hillside grade school and served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis.

Following military service he lived in Milwaukee and Menasha.

Mr. Tiedemann owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Norwood from 1969 until retirement in 1995.

He served as town of Norwood constable for 20 years.

Gerhardt enjoyed time outdoors cutting wood, taking care of wildlife and pets, and hunting. On the weekends he could be found enjoying polka shows on the local radio stations and the Lawrence Welk Show on television. In his later years he enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors including his wife are two step-sons, Shane (Jamie) Lenzner, Antigo, Ryan Lenzner, Antigo; four step-grandchildren Ethan, Kaitlyn, Nick and Lauren Lenzner; two sisters, Rosemary Hanus, Antigo, Olga Stege, Antigo; two brothers, Otto Tiedemann, King, Henry (Polly) Tiedemann, Milwaukee; also survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane (Jankowski) Tiedemann, two brothers-in-law, Harold Stege, and Donald Hanus, a sister-in-law, Melba Tiedemann.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Engebretson officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery where Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm. at Bradley Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
