Patricia “Pat” Ann Kluwe, 76
Patricia “Pat” Ann Kluwe passed away peacefully to meet her maker with her family by her side on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at The Bay at Eastview in Antigo. She had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for many years, and died of complications from the disease. She was 76 years old.
She was born November 18, 1940 in Urbana, IL, daughter of the late Clarence and Lora Ellen (Beasley) Nelson.
She was a 1959 graduate of Urbana High School. She married Eugene Kluwe on June 9, 1960 in Urbana, IL. Eugene survives and resides in Antigo.
Mrs. Kluwe formerly resided in Urbana and Kenosha. She was employed as a bookkeeper for IGA Supermarket in Urbana, and as secretary and bookkeeper for Kluwe Construction. In 1975, the family moved to Antigo. She was active in the community, serving on the board of directors for both the Humane Society, and the Chamber of Commerce.
She was a wonderful grandma and mother, and she treasured the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed Packer games, bowling, fishing, quilting, and crocheting. She was also an excellent cook, and she was especially known for her fried chicken and fresh fish fries.
Mrs. Kluwe was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar, where she was active in the Altar Guild, served as president and treasurer of Ladies Aid, and quilted for missions with the church quilting group.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include 2 daughters, Pamela (Dayton “Pat”) Borneman of Gillett, and Tericia “Teri” (Jay) Doucette of Gleason; a son, David (Peggy) Kluwe of Polar; 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Bosch of Fort Atkinson, Rachel Borneman of Gillett, Matthew Borneman of Antigo, Tracie (Shane) Hall of Antigo, Jennie (Travis) Karpf of Antigo, and Lorie (James) Zilles of Green Bay; 9 great-grandchildren, Natalie and Brogan Bosch, Isaak, Ethan, and Gracie Hall, Adelita and Liam Karpf, and Zander and Zolan Zilles; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Allen Kluwe, Jr.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar, with Rev. Donald Engebretson officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
