For the Antigo Times

As winter draws near, the Antigo Penguins Swim Club competed in their first conference meet of the season in Lakeland on Saturday, November 4th. Lakeland Sprints is a fun meet for the swimmers as the 12 & Under category partakes in 25-yard sprints and 13 & Up compete in 50-yard sprints.

Participating swimmers included Molly Neufeld, Mya Burt, Morgan Rank, Maggie Neufeld and Zander Reetz. The swimmers were coached by Janelle Bolder and Betsy Neufeld.

The Penguins received ribbons in the following swims:

Swimming Age Group 13-14

Morgan Rank (age 13) 50Y Breaststroke – 45.62, 4th place; 50Y Butterfly – 40.72, 5th place; 50Y Freestyle – 33.64, 6th place.

Swimming Age Group 11-12

Molly Neufeld (age 11) 25Y Backstroke – 19.79, 6th place.

Swimming Age Group 9-10

Mya Burt (age 10) 25Y Freestyle – 13.84, 1st place; 25Y Backstroke – 18.09, 1st place; 25Y Breaststroke – 18.85, 1st place; 25Y Butterfly – 17.81, 3rd place.

Zander Reetz (age 10) 25Y Backstroke – 23.80, 3rd place; 25Y Breaststroke – 32.52, 4th place; 100Y IM – 2:11.44, 5th place; 25Y Freestyle – 20.95, 6th place.

Relays 12 & Under

100Y Freestyle Relay – Molly Neufeld, Zander Reetz, Maggie Neufeld and Mya Burt- 1:15.32, 2nd place.
