Antigo Penguins compete in Divisionals at Rhinelander, all qualify for Conference

The Antigo Penguins along with Rhinelander, Lakeland, Phillips, Tomahawk, Merrill and Medford competed in the East Divisionals meet held in Rhinelander this past weekend. The age 10 & under competed on Saturday, January 27th. Participating swimmers included Tristin Arlen, Mya Burt, Nolan Lucht, Evie Lucht, Chloe Tainter, Holland Tainter, Layla Tainter, Brion Koszarek, Zander Reetz, Rutger Busse, Alexis Federman, Dawson Behm, Josh Zanayed, Nate Wild, Maggie Neufeld and Max Bolder.

The 11 and older competed on Sunday, January 28th. Participating swimmers included Heather Arlen, Makayla Tischendorf, Olivia Braun, Adie Smith, Karl Busse, Myah Bolder, Morgan Rank, Emily Gravitter, Erika Gravitter, Molly Neufeld, Gordon Lucht, Gretchen Lucht, Brandi Howard, Lola Evans, Molly Nelson, Alyssa Tincher, Meredith Meidl, Avery Federman and Maggie Baginski. The top 9 in each individual event and the top 6 relay teams qualified for Conference which will be held in Antigo this weekend. All 35 Antigo swimmers who competed qualified for Conference!

Mya Burt age 10 broke her own age 9-10 Club Records in the 50Y Freestyle with a time of 30.77 and 100Y IM with a time of 1:18.02. Tristin Arlen swam an age 9-10 state qualifying time in the 50Y Freestyle. Holland Tainter swam an age 8 & under state qualifying time in the 25Y Freestyle. Mya Burt swam age 9-10 state qualifying times in all four of her individual events- 50Y Freestyle, 100Y IM, 100Y Backstroke and 50Y Breaststroke.

Molly Nelson, Heather Arlen, Mya Burt, Holland Tainter, Chloe Tainter and Tristin Arlen qualified for Midwest Regionals.

Girls 10 & under 200Y Freestyle Relay- Alexis Federman, Evie Lucht, Layla Tainter and Maggie Neufeld 4:00.54- 6th place

The swimmers received great instruction and support from coaches Janelle Bolder, Ryne Levis, Michelle Arlen, Austin Arlen, Betsy Neufeld and Amy Zanayad.

The Antigo Penguins took 4th place at the East Divisionals.
