Robert Arthur Hall, 94

Robert Arthur Hall, of Antigo, died Monday July 16, 2018 at home. He was 94 years old. He was born on July 10, 1924, in Rhinelander, a son of Arthur and Noella (Schlessman) Hall. He married Gertrude Jankoviak in 1965. She survives.

Mr. Hall enlisted in the United States Navy as a junior in high school during WWII. His first assignment was on the USS Ticonderoga during WWII. He later served on numerous Aircraft Carriers before retiring from the Navy after 23 years of service, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

He Lived in Escanaba, Michigan and Kenosha before moving to Antigo in 1978.

Bob was a representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 15 years and sold for the Heartl Monument company while living in Antigo.

He was a life member of the Leland-Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2653, Antigo and member of the Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post #3, Antigo.

Survivors, including his wife, are two sons, Robert Alan (Wendy) Hall, Louisiana, Raymond Hall and Eileen Mercer, Antigo; and two children from a previous marriage a daughter, Anne Barthlow, Texas; a son Robert Hall Jr., Texas;

Six grandchildren, Robert Hall and Katherine Hall of Louisiana, Garan Lyles, Christy (Dwane) Belemy and Raina Hall, Texas and Kyle Seymour, Antigo; one great-grandchild, Tyler Belemy, Texas; a sister, Ruth Carstensen of Rhinelander; a sister-in-law Nancy Hall, Florida; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son-in-law Jimmy Barthlow; a brother, Arthur Hall; a brother-in-law Martin Carstensen and a grandson, David W. Foster, Jr.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.on Friday June 20, 2018 at St John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum where Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors.

Visitation will be Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
