ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, August 13^th

6:04 PM Officers responded a call from a female reporting that her vehicle was struck in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 and the other vehicle then left the scene. The female gave officers the license plate number of the striking vehicle. The caller’s vehicle was damaged, but drivable. There were no injuries. Photos were taken. Officers spoke with the female registered owner of the striking vehicle at her residence. She told officers that she was unaware that she had struck another vehicle.

Tuesday, August 14^th

11:40 AM Officers responded to a report of a semi versus car accident in front of an area business on S. Superior Street. There were no injuries.

7:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.

Wednesday, August 15^th

8:42 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive off of $26.40. The vehicle was described as a newer, black car with Illinois license plates that left southbound on Neva Road. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 47. The female driver told officers that she forgot to pay and she would go back and pay for the gas.

10:31 AM Officers responded to a call from the witness of a two vehicle accident at Clermont Street and 7^th Avenue. Vehicle 1 was westbound on 7^th Avenue. Vehicle 2 was southbound on Clermont Street. The driver of Vehicle 2 did not see the stop sign and entered the intersection, striking Vehicle 1 causing damage to both vehicles. The male driver of Vehicle 2 told officers that he didn’t see the stop sign due to several construction vehicles that blocked the stop sign. He was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. There were no injuries.

Thursday, August 16^th

12:01 AM Officers were out with two vehicles in the 600 block of 6^th Avenue. A male subject was arrested on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants. He was transported to Corrections.

1:01 AM Officers were out with a male subject behind an area business on Edison Street. The male subject was cited for underage alcohol, 2^nd offense and urinating in public. The male told officers that he did not go inside the business and he was just waiting for his girlfriend. Officers located the female subject inside and told her to walk the male subject to her residence.

7:48 PM Officers were out with two male subjects at Castle Park on Field Street. One male subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant.

11:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her purse was stolen out of her vehicle earlier that night while it was parked at a residence on Wausau Road when she was there watching the Packer game. The purse was described as black, had three zippers, with $400 cash, 2 credit cards, social security cards, etc. inside. The female told officers that her vehicle had been unlocked and a window had possibly been down. Officers advised the female to cancel her credit cards.

Friday, August 17^th

12:02 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he had just backed into another vehicle while he was backing out of a driveway at 2^nd Avenue and Arctic Street. The other driver was a male subject from Deerbrook. The reporting male admitted to officers that it was his fault, saying that he did not see the other vehicle when he was backing up. He told officers that he had no insurance. He said that he couldn’t afford it with all of his other bills. Officers told him that he couldn’t have a vehicle on the road without it. The male subject was cited for having no insurance.

11:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a tall male subject wearing gray shorts and a dark t-shirt defecated in the neighbor’s driveway on 7^th Avenue and then took off towards Superior Street.

Saturday, August 18^th

7:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a silver F150 truck just struck a VW Bug vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The caller said that the pickup then took off westbound on Hwy. 64 through the stop lights. Officers were given the license plate number of the vehicle.

11:48 PM Officers responded to a report of an older gentleman bleeding from the nose and lying on the sidewalk at 5^th Avenue and Field Street. He was conscious with an inhaler lying next to him. EMS was dispatched. The reporting person then located a white Dodge pickup which had run into the river by the dam. Officers found out that the male subject had numerous medical conditions. He told officers that he had a nose bleed that won’t stop because of the blood thinners he was taking. He attempted to drive himself to the hospital, but he said he lost consciousness and went off the roadway. He then made it to 5^th Avenue and Field Street before collapsing. He was transported to the hospital by the Antigo Fire Department. His vehicle was towed.

Sunday, August 19^th

12:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he witnessed a person fall from their bike at 5^th Avenue and Elm Street. The person was now lying there motionless. Officers discovered that the male subject was extremely intoxicated. The male subject was given a ride to a residence on Mayfair Street.

4:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a chainsaw that he had gotten just three weeks earlier was stolen from the back of his Dodge truck while it was parked on 6^th Avenue. The chainsaw was a Husqvarna 395 XP with a 20” blade. It was valued at $1,075.00.

Monday, August 20^th

3:44 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a break in at an area business on Prosser Place. The caller told officers that she had just noticed that some machines had been broken into. She said that no one was around and there were no vehicles in the parking lot. Officers discovered that entry had been gained through the northeast door. It had been pried open. Video surveillance showed that one male subject entered the business at approximately 2:15 AM and broke into the office taking over $3,000. The perp then broke open 5 poker machines with a pry bar and took all the money from them. Officers were investigating.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, August 15^th

1:01 PM Officers were at a residence on Cty. Rd. T on a warrant attempt. A male subject was arrested on Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants and transported to Corrections.

3:32 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a 1 ½ year old boy was in the roadway by a residence on Cty. Rd. D. The male caller was watching the child until law enforcement arrived. The father of the child told officers he had been working until 4:00 AM and fell asleep. His wife thought that he was awake before she left, but he wasn’t and their son got out. The father told officers that they would implement other precautions to make sure that this didn’t happen again.

3:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Heise Road reporting that her 1 ½ year old daughter had opened the door and snuck out. The caller could not find her daughter and requested assistance. The child was described as wearing a green long sleeve shirt and black leggings with flowers on them. The female called officers back and said that she found her daughter in the barn and she was ok. All units were advised.

Friday, August 17^th

12:02 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that someone had destroyed the DNR gate on Perch Lake Road, off of Cty. Rd. U. The yellow gate was kitty-corner from the boat landing. The caller told officers that he believed that the gate was up the day before. The suspect vehicle was also doing “doughnuts” in a field south of that location on DNR land. The Department of Natural Resources was notified.

1:30 PM A male came to the Safety Building to report that about $250 worth of 3 inch PVC pipe had been taken from his son’s building site on Evelands Way. The incident occurred sometime between July 10^th and July 15^th. The PVC bundle was last seen on 7/10/18. There were no known suspects.

4:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. X. A male subject and a female subject were both arrested for possession of heroin, possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female subject was also arrested on a probation hold. The female subject also smuggled a baggie of heroin into the jail that was discovered by an officer during a search.

Saturday, August 18^th

12:13 PM Officers responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Hwy. 55. One motorcycle left the roadway. Three other motorcycles were in the group. The male driver denied medical transport. The male subject was cited for having no insurance, operating after suspension and operating a motorcycle without a valid license.

Monday, August 20^th

1:44 AM Officers responded to a report of a large dumpster fire at a residence on Neva Road. Officers talked with a female subject at that residence. She told officers that she had burned some papers on Thursday 8/16 and dumped the ashes in the dumpster on Sunday, 8/19. The female told another officer that she had dumped some coals from a barbeque on Thursday, 8/16 or Friday, 8/17. The Antigo Fire Department put out the fire.
