BB Jacks-Monday Fundraiser-Pizza to Benefit the Langlade County Humane Society December 24th & 31st BB Jacks, 523 Superior St., Antigo. Our friends at BB Jacks here in Antigo have generously decided to do a little fundraiser for the animals at our shelter. On Mondays (only), they will donate 10% of their pizza sales to our shelter throughout the month of December. So stop on by BB Jacks and get yourself some yummy pizza and help out our shelter.

Immunization Clinic December 26th 9am-4pm Langlade County Health Department, 1225 Langlade Road, Antigo. The immunization clinic is available to provide childhood immunizations & adult vaccinations. The vaccinations are FREE to children 2 months – 18 years of age if you have Medical Assistance or no insurance. Adult vaccinations are available some with a minimal fee or FREE if you have MC or MA. Preschool Story Time December 26th 10:30-11:15am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.
Open Skate December 26th 11:30am-1pm Langlade County Hockey Arena, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. The Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association, in collaboration with the City of Antigo Park & Rec Department, offer FREE open skates throughout the year at the Langlade County Multi-Purpose Building. The Open Skates are FREE with the donation of a canned good. There are a limited supply of skates available for use (these are free, but must be returned at the end of the skate). Thank you to the Antigo Optimists for donating money for the purchase of more skates to be used by those in the community. There is no skate sharpening at the rink during open skate times. Registration is not required to attend Open Skates.
Play & Learn December 27th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers & children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents & children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness & milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages & Stages questionnaires are made available to parents & caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Antigo Optimist Sponsored Free Swimming December 27th 2-7pm Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center, 111 Western Ave., Antigo. Free admission with the donation of a non-perishable food item for the Antigo Area Community Food Pantry. Most needed items are rice, beans and peanut butter.
Waffles at Gartzke December 29th 9am-Noon Main Shelter at Gartzke Flowage, W6379 5th Ave., Antigo (Town of Polar). It is on Highway F (5th Ave.) about 2 miles east of the intersection with Highway S. The shelter is 1/4 mile from the parking lot & directions are well marked. Festivities will be at the shelter where Nick Salm will prepare his famous waffles on the new deck. The club will also provide hot chocolate & coffee. Bring your favorite toppings, fruit, juice, or sausage to share, but most importantly bring all your friends & family. If there is enough snow, trails will be groomed & ready. If the snow is marginal, we’ll hike. Take the opportunity to experience this picturesque site, along with a warm fire and food at the shelter. Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo. Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.
Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
