Janice Marie Taylor, who lived her life for Christ, died January 7, 2015 as a result of pancreatic and liver cancer at her home in Elton under the care of her family with the assistance of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 71 years old.

She was born January 23, 1943 in Berlin, WI, daughter of the late Edwin and Coralie (Jackson) Pelz. She married Floyd Earl Taylor on Dec. 10, 1960 at Borth Church in Borth, WI. He survives.

Mrs. Taylor worked as a homemaker, mother, and helpmate. She lived and raised her family in the Appleton area until Floyd’s retirement in 1995, when they moved to Elton.

She was an active member of Antigo Community Church since 1995. She was formerly a member at Calvary Bible Church in Neenah. Throughout her adult life, she worked in children’s ministry, dedicating her time to AWANA/ Kid’s Club programs, Children’s Church, and serving as a camp counselor at Silver Birch Ranch.

Mrs. Taylor’s life and hobbies were to serve and love Jesus, her family, and others. She desired to be faithful wherever her two feet were planted. She and Floyd worked side by side as they established their home, garden, and farm in Elton.

She was strengthened by daily Bible reading, and had a gift of letter writing. Her letters were a great source of encouragement to the recipients, and she always included relevant and inspirational Bible quotes.

In addition to her husband, Floyd, survivors include 2 daughters, Shelly (Jeff) Nelson of Lenoir City, TN, and Joan (Steve) Petznick of New London; a sister, Loretta (Glen) Frank of Stuart, FL; 9 grandchildren, Heidi Kniss, Katie Nelson, Emily (Patrick) Martin, Daniel (Laney) Nelson, Caleb Nelson, David (Shamla) Laabs, Sarah (Mark) Omdal, Hannah (John) Sevilla, and Jonathan Laabs; 12 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Samuel, Nora, and Tessa Kniss, Emma-Kate, Evelyn, Eila, Coralie, and Benjamin Martin, Otto Nelson, Pria Laabs, and Ezra Sevilla; and 2 additional great-grandchildren are expected to arrive in the coming months.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Pelz, and a sister-in-law, Carol Pelz.

A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Antigo Community Church. Rev. Steve Stanford and Rev. Kellen Lewis will officiate the service, with the message provided by Dave Wager. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Borth Cemetery near Omro.
