Langlade Figure Skating Club competes at Badger State Games
For Antigo Times
Members of the Langlade Figure skating club had their blades to the ice at the Badger State Winter Games on January 31 in Mosinee.
The 7 + Snow team represented the Langlade Figure Skating Club at the event. The group performed a theatrical/artistic ice routine based on the Disney movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. There were 26 clubs at the Figure Skating Games, and the team were 8 of 502 athletes that completed at the figure skating event.
All five Badger State Judges ranked the team in the first place standing, which rarely happens, making the win grander for the athletes and the club. The win qualified the team to compete at the State Games of America in Grand Rapids Michigan.
The team is coached by Ariane Zimmerman, one of 73 figure skating coaches coaching at the Badger State Figure Skating Games. Teammates are all members of United States Figure Skating and are at varying levels within that program.
The team will perform their routine during the Langlade Figure Skating Club’s annual Showcase on Sunday, February 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the multipurpose building at the fairgrounds.
